I'm sure I could spend a whole day wandering through the web about all the wonderful things in my hometown. Hope you enjoyed a few of the stops along the way.

Neighbors

We have lost our neighborhoods.
I got to spend some time in an old fashioned neighborhood where neighbors waved and said, "Hi." out of habit rather than checking to see who it is first.
I got a wake up call from a friend of mine; that was not directed at me but it still hit home. That people tend to call on one another when we want something and not necessarily just to say, "Hi."
I have been called to wake the neighborhoods back up. Send random notes just to say, "Hi." and see what's up in their lives; NOT to say what's going on in your.
It's time for us all to actively participate in our communities. If you are having issues with the state of the world today, do something about it. Start by saying hi to your neighbor and picking up garbage as you go for a walk around town. Start small, pay it forward, you could end up affecting the world as a whole.

Farmers

This past week, I was visiting with my family and heard that the small farmers of Wisconsin are going bigger and corporate. As I was driving across this beautiful state I was noticing all of these beautiful farm houses and barns. And I was hit by this thought the farmer is right up there with the soldier. They both do a job that the average person would not be willing to do.

Without the local farmer where would we be? Food prices would skyrocket or become scarce. Or we would all have our own plot of land for vegetables, a cow and some chickens.

Support your local farmers, thank them for the job they do that we are not willing to do. It takes all different kinds of people to make this world go round.
