Birthday Party Rewind

Ok, maybe I'll go forward through the day. It'll be easier for my tired brain to make sense of it all.

Celebrated my Hazel's 7th birthday on my 36th. Yes, and I am proud of all my years of education and learning. We held her party a few weeks later because she wanted to make sure that she was able to invite all of the girls that she would be able to. And I think that we even missed a few even  after all the work we did to try and make sure that we didn't miss anyone. There are 3 different classes in her grade. That makes it slightly difficult to make sure that we don't miss anyone. And I just realized that I didn't take a picture of the invitations that I made and they were so darn cute too. I drew a little fairy, just barely showing, on the top of the page with all of the details listed below. Simple.

Created Fairy Dust for all of the girls. 2 Tablespoons of salt and 3 drops of food coloring and then stir like crazy! Let it dry out overnight. You can repeat with the coloring the next day in order to get a darker color. It does make the salt a little thicker. We popped some plain popcorn and allowed the girls to sprinkle their fairy dust on it. Wasn't the best idea I had because some girls didn't understand what happened when you sprinkled salt on something. But it was fun all the same.

I cleaned the playroom ALL BY MYSELF. Then I forbade them to go in the toy box that now holds all the toys that I had to pick up off of the floor. Amazingly...it still almost looks like this. The floor mats are now put together to make a fort.

No Cook Apple Pie Playdough! I love it! Made the whole house smell yummy.
1 1/2 cup boiling water (heated mine in our Hot Shot)
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoon oil
2 Tablespoon cream of tartar (this was just a giant scoop for me because I ran out the first night)
Stir it all together. Sprinkle heavily with apple pie seasoning (nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon) and mix it again. Add food coloring as you wish. We made many different colors the next day but started with green. It was a wonderful experience to mush the warm dough in your hands and the smell....

Finished of the playset for the year. Yes that swing is a little too high. It is going to be fixed sometime.

 Scooby came by to visit.

Our homemade cake decorated by the girls. Was very yummy.

The crew that came to celebrate.

And the final farewell from one of the friends.

Didn't catch all of the spectacular events that happened at the party. Like the coffee filter fairies. Food coloring in water dropped onto the filters and hung to dry. Then we decorated and glued leaves onto the clothespins and drew a face on it. Squished the filter to make wings and clipped it into the clothespin.

Also missed on getting pics of the hubby flying in an airplane over the house (twice) and all of the girls running around the house screaming and waving at him.

Didn't get pics of the cool gifts either. As she plays with them, I am sure you will be seeing some of the awesome crafting and game sets that she got. She even got a box of fruit snacks.

It was an awesome day with no major issues to speak of. Will definitely do it again...next year.

So tired...just want a nap.

Something has got to be missing from my body because I should not feel this tired all the time. It's probably me wearing myself down but I don't remember feeling this tired when I do that. Hmmm...maybe these 330am wake ups with no nap are starting to affect me. Tiny girl did allow me to take one nap this week. We will try again today with all the other stuff I have planned.

Girlie birthday party this weekend. Started making the fairy dust (colored salt) last night. Going to pop some fresh popcorn for them to sprinkle the fairy dust on. Also planning on making coffee filter fairies and no cook playdough. So keep your eyes open for the wrap up summary of all this fantasticness. Along with it being my birthday and we've been invited to an Eagle Scout ceremony. And then it looks like I'll be starting helping out in the classroom the week after or maybe the week after that. The hubby is very excited that I have so much to do to keep busy. Praying that if I wear myself out, that he'll be fine picking up the pieces (after all, it took him a week to realize I was sick last month).

M.O.M.S. group started up again. Love hanging out with such a wide range of women. We have two brand new moms and a few well retired ladies along with all of us in the many stages of children. This session we are studying And yesterday was the introduction session. What hit me the most was the simple change of a word in a sentence can change everything. If you simply change "need" to "want", this weight lifts off of you and you are able to function happily. Talked this topic over with the hubby last night. He said that there has to be a base list of needs in order to function. I think that if we make some of those needs into wants in the learning process, we may raise happier children. They should want to pick up their toys so that they know where to find them and they don't disappear. They should want to put their clothes in their drawers so that they know where to find them and they stay clean and safe from the sisters. They should want to help out around the house because they know that makes mom and dad happy and when they are happy good things happen.

I think I have procrastinated enough for one morning (maybe .:slaps hand:. ok). Time to do my study because I want to not have to worry about it for the rest of the day and I want to do something fun with the tiny girl. Like attempt the first batch of playdough.

Birthday Bash

Finally feeling better. This is day four in my jammies. Yesterday was a day for a post of it's own. But, I finally got the pics from the party on the computer. It was tons of fun.

Here is the birthday girl with MaKayla, her baby that has the same date thanks to Great Aunt Mary.

These are some art work that I was inspired to create after wandering through some fabulous homeschooling blogs. I've been searching for ideas to keep Tiny busy while her sisters are at school all day.

This in my introvert taking a time out for herself after asking me 3 times how many people were going to be coming to her party. I made sure to tell her how proud of her I was that she knew enough to get away and recharge before everyone got here.

These are her pretending to be a pumpkin.
Then her fabulous orange painting shirt attracted a Monarch butterfly. It kept trying to get to her in the center of all of the people. Caused me to wonder who was coming to let Hazel know that they were watching over her. This girl loves butterflies and she misses her great grandmas that have gone "home".

The presents on the almost finished playhouse.

 Time for cake! OzCake! Yum!

Sister eating Cinderellas face first.

Birthday girl trying carrot cake first.

Time for the presents. Only 3 toys and tons of clothes for the new school year. Oh and a new backpack and journal for my girl.

So darn cute in her new clothes the next morning.

Eating Sebastian.

Some fantastically random cake eating pics for my sister to post on her website if she likes. She has decided to take the cake making full force and is learning as she goes. Everyone thought the cakes were delicious! My Hazel ordered a blueberry cake and wanted to try a carrot cake. She also wanted Cinderella and loves The Little Mermaid. And with just that little bit of information, my wonderful sister created this fantastic cake that everyone really enjoyed. Amber has already started her cake order and her birthday isn't until April. A good friend of ours has put in an order for a girl jumping out of a cake for his birthday next week. Can't wait to see how that one is going to turn out. Hope she posts pics on her site.

And this was the end of Sebastian and the cake. Hubby got to take the last two pieces to work yesterday (birthday girl's wishes).

And now back to my birthday girl.

The Birthday Party

Exhausted. Everything went swimmingly. Super happy that my mom and sister came up last night so that they could help this morning. Since that's about all my brain can process this morning evening...I'll just share the pics.
